Proposed layout plan for the project Titled ''Land-Escape'' at Buxar in Bihar, 2014

“Agrarian Unrest’’

Future project

Proposed Site – Agricultural fields and beyond.

The idea is realized by constant practice in the agricultural sites and the spatial interventions. A long term research project about exploring the relationship between agricultural fields and its people, agricultural fields and its transforming cultural landscape, agricultural fields and their function as a carrier of life, cultural landscape and identities.

The project is conceived as an ongoing experiments in challenging the boundaries between the art practice and lifestyle practice, artists and artisans(farmers), crafts and arts and towards developing a new, critically engaged hybrid practice that integrates, cultural history, folk art traditions, farming and current land, environmental and personal concerns, along with creating a provocative art that leads to the unanticipated interdisciplinary convergence and diverse way of thinking and working.

Agricultural sites are natural sites and lifelines of cultures. Their historical and contemporary roles are diverse and ambivalent. Agricultural fields are symbols of dreams, exploitation's, social inequality and revolutions. Agricultural fields are also the carriers of Rituals, festivals, economy and oral narratives. Agricultural fields play an important role in every cultures and nation. Agricultural fields give food therefore life to people. Agricultural fields serves perfectly as spread geometry of food, art etc through continents, cultures, peoples and dreams of cultures.

The crucial concept is to imagine the land as a ‘womb’ or a receptacle for ideas, process and innovation, and in the end a site for creative introspection's and collective cultural experiences. The “Agrarian unrest’’ will be imagined as a fertility space of the land making us realizing it’s important in contemporary scenario, it will personify the everyday life of the people and their transforming relationship with the land.
