''On the Edge''
a unscripted photo performance
Harvest waste, community objects, mud, bamboo, ropes etc.
December, 2013
Site- Deepor beel bird Sanctuary, Guwahati.

In a five hour long and quite performance, along with the objects collected from the communities around the lake, the performer body tries to communicate with the water body on the concerns, hopes, possibilities and relations between the land, body and their behaviors to each other.
This work is about exploring the relationship of water body and people, water body and its transforming cultural landscape, water body and their function as carrier of cultural landscape and identities.
It is a quite aesthetic exploration in the context of lake and its relation with the local community and culture. Quietness, meditation, ritual, waiting, change, camouflage, migration and theatricality that tell the story about the conflicted and contested space of Deepor Beel Lake and its community culture.
The context of the performance was in-between space of land and water – a space of trade, tourism and ritual.
